About the Dual Career Program

Who is the Dual Career Program for?

If you are the relocating spouse or partner of a newly hired faculty member (lived in the area for less that a year) or part of faculty recruitment interested in relocating to Morgantown, you are eligible to receive the services provided by the Dual Career program.

What does the Dual Career Program offer?

The program offers a wide range of services to assist relocating spouses or partners in their job search. Services include: up-to-date information on the local job market, resume and cover letter preparation, interview coaching, job search strategy, and community information.

How do I enroll in the Dual Career Program?

WVU has made enrollment into the program very easy. All you need to do is enroll at Enrollment Form. Once you have completed and submitted the Enrollment Form your information will be directly forwarded to the Dual Career Program.

Am I guaranteed employment?

Although the program does not guarantee employment or create job openings, we will assist you in your job search. Dual Career clients are supported in their job search and work closely with the program coordinator to identify job opportunities, update their job seeking skills and obtain networking information.

Will I be given preferential treatment for WVU positions?

The Dual Career Program does not compromise the normal hiring or search process, but we can provide a letter of support to a hiring supervisor to identify you as Dual Career Client for university positions.

Can you help me find employment outside of WVU?

The Dual Career Program maintains a network of business contacts in the community and surrounding area to assist you in your job search. Some of the area industries include healthcare, coal and energy, pharmaceuticals, wireless communication and a growing high technology corridor.

How long will you assist me in my job search?

Program services can continue for up to one year or until you secure employment, which ever comes first. The program is flexible, so if you need to put your job search on hold due to unforeseen circumstances, we will work with you, so when you are ready to re-start your job search the program services can continue.

Can you assist me in finding an academic position?

Those interested in academic opportunities can find a complete listing of Area Colleges and Universities all located within a reasonable driving distance to Morgantown.
